Exploring the World With Pokemon Go: Leroy Hoequist Park

Just to the east of La Costa Wetlands, the very first park I explored in this travel blog sits another. And these two areas could not be much different if they tried. Much more open and with signs of civilization all around it, one would not beleive that Leroy Hoequist Park could be so near to an isolated marsh.

It is plain to see even from the entrance of Leroy Hoequist Park that there are homes all around it. Pavilions dot the landscape. This makes this area a bit more unique than some of the others. Most so far have been isolated and kept separate from nearby areas.

While standing near this pavilion, I took an image of the field that sits in the middle. I had to wait till almost halfway across the park from where I started since many children were running around. I avoid taking pictures of kids at all costs and so only took shots during opportune moments.

There is a lot happening in this picture. Towards the middle a flock of birds is gathered after taking a swim. Nearby them sit tow trees with bright leaves. Just past the water sits an apartment complex. I loved the many different features sitting in this spot.

The Second Path:

As I continued walking around the park, I noticed a path that went away from the others. I am also a fan of outdoor lights and this pathway was filled with them. The two factors together made me take a detour.

I followed the path around the lake. I noticed that Pokemon Go was spawning more of the critters the farther down I continued. However, I had to be mindful of the brewing clouds overhead. By this time, the wind had picked up and it was obvious that a storm was coming.

From the opposite side of the lake, the pathway ended. The rest of the way would take me to the inside of a neighborhood and I wanted to stay within the park. However, I had to stay in this general area for a few moments longer. More Pokemon spawned in this one spot than everywhere else in the park.

Pokemon Go:

Here is Leroy Hoequist Park in Pokemon Go. One Pokestop does not make up for nothing notable spawning in the park at large. So while this is a scenic area, not the best for the game. Though the area of the park not shown on the map certainly had more spawns than the rest, they were still common Pokemon.

The egg I hatched today in Pokemon Go is the opposite of common. Clefairy and its evolutions are rarely seen in the wild. It was nice to get a fairly powerful baby version of one of the better fairies in the main series.
