Exploring the World With Pokemon Go: Englewood Park

Admin/ December 21, 2018/ Travel

Thanks to severe weather the day before, I was forced to miss one day of exploration.  But today I am back and found a small park.  Located in the neighborhoods just east of Semoron Boulevard (State Road 436) and just south of Lake Underhill Road, Pokemon Go inspired me to discover what was in Englewood Park.

I found a large playground.  This area certainly had children in mind with its construction.  A flat environment with many trees dominates the area.  The path pictured above leads directly from the nearby parking lot.  The entire area is cover in the pine leaves from the nearby trees.  This blanket creates a pretty impressive orange that can be seen clearly from a distance.

Other than the park, one can find an open field that is free of trees.  While there is no playground equipment, open space such as this is perfect for playing catch or running around.  The pine leaves found there way here too.

On the opposite side of the open field, sits a combination of the first two areas of Englewood Park.  Trees mix in with an open field to create a second activity area right next to the playground.

Past two separate playgrounds, one will find multiple benches to sit.  I saw an area to cook food as well.  All and all this family friendly area has quite a bit to offer for those of all ages. I personally was a fan of the stone benches.  They are not a feature I find often in Florida.

I went all the way to the back of Englewood Park and found a fence. On the other side sits both Lake Underhill Road and a bridge beyond. Like in many of the other parks I have explored recently, those concrete walls mark Toll Road 408.  Its a major highway that happens to be near where I live.  Its not a surprise that so many places I find are so close to it.

I have showcased Engelwood Park in reality, but how does it measure up in Pokemon Go? The area around the Pokestop had lots of spawns.  The park itself is a Pokenest meaning that at the moment, Wingul is spawning everywhere within the place.  The winter event is in full stop and I caught my first Snover right near where I stood in this picture.

All in all, I have been to better places to play the game such as Barber Park and Airport Lakes, but I have certainly encountered worse places to play than here as well. If you need Wingul or whatever nest Pokemon appear here, come by, otherwise, there are other places to play.

I hatched another Eevee, but would have rather earned something else for my efforts.  Not a problem though.  There is always next time.  Speaking of next time, unless weather gets in the way again, expect a new adventure tomorrow.
