Exploring the World With Pokemon Go: East Orange Park

Admin/ January 4, 2019/ Travel

Today I saw a place called East Orange Park near where East Colonial Drive (State Road 50) and Toll Road 408 cross. I became excited at the prospect of checking out a larger place today given what had occurred yesterday. Sadly, I made a mistake in where I chose once again.

It is actually a disservice to say that there is nothing at East Orange Park. There are playgrounds and even a nice walking trail to explore as I found out. Also there is a massive baseball field that I was unable to explore while here.

However, given the maps I was looking at, I had envisioned a multi hour exploration. Instead I was here for maybe 30 minutes at most. The issue lies with what was sitting right next door. While marked as a park and recreation area, half of East Orange Park was in truth, a set of local government buildings. For obvious reasons I did not play Pokemon Go here, or snap any pictures of the area.

As you can see by the map in Pokemon Go, this park looks huge. But looks can be deceiving. Only the two stops directly between me and the nearby road were in the park prior. The unclicked one below me is located inside the baseball stadium. Meanwhile the mass cluster of three directly above me is where the government facilities sit. Though why so many Pokestops sit in a place where individuals should not be congregating is beyond me.

All in all, there really is no point in coming here for Pokemon Go. If you are feeling daring, there are a lot of Pokestops nearby but it might be semi illegal to get them all.

If you want to play Pokemon Go in East Orlando, University of Central Florida is right nearby. And it is not illegal to play there. Best of all, spawns, Pokestops, and Gyms are all over the place. It will take me multiple posts to fully document that area. Look forward to it in the future.

As promised I hatched two eggs today to make up for what I failed to do yesterday. It is amusing that these are the two I hatched given their connection in the games.

With now two days in a row of disappointing destinations, it is my hope that I find somewhere truly special for tomorrow. Stay tuned for more tomorrow.
